PROMOTION CRITERIA

a) Promotion will be granted on the basis of marks obtained in major subjects considering all examinations from the two terms.

b) Students of class IX who do not qualify for promotion as per Council norms will be detained. Rule : 35% is to be got in 5 out of 6 major subjects which includes English. Students of class X have to pass in all major subjects in order to appear for the board exam.

c) PASS MARKS:
Classes UKG - IV — 40%
Classes V - X — 35%
Classes XI - XII — 35%

Marks of minor and ancillary subjects will also be considered for promotion.

d) A student who fails to get 35% marks for two consecutive years will have to withdraw from the school.

e) Steps for withdrawal by parents or dismissal by authorities are to be taken after strong warning given by competent authorities to students or parents under the following circumstances:

• Those who do not obtain pass marks in any two main subjects: Mathematics, English, 2nd Language and in any other three subjects.

• Those who get less than 30% (H.S), 35% (S) and 40% (P) in any subject.

• Those who do not have 75% attendance.

• in matters of permission for examinations and promotion, the decision of the Principal is final.

f) In accordance with the instructions of CISCE. students failing to qualify in classes - IX and XI shall not be promoted to classes - X and XII respectively.

g) Promotion at the end of the year will be based on attendance, Results of tests and continuous Assessment in every subject, work done during the year and overall conduct record and not merely on marks scored in the final examination.
